Interview & CV Tips

We advertise all of our roles and opportunities right here on our website. Before you get started with your application, make sure you can answer ‘yes’ to all of these questions:

  • Take a look at our culture; is this the environment that will help you to do your best work?
  • When considering a position, think about your own personal skill set against the job’s role and responsibilities, are they a great match?
  • Do you have the requested background and profile to enable you to be successful?
  • Is there still room for you to stretch and grow?
  • Most of all does this role, in this company excite you?

If you have answered ‘yes’ to all of them, it’s time to brush up your CV. Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • We want to know what made you the person you have become today, so don’t leave anything out – your CV should give us a complete picture of your working experience.
  • Are there any skeletons in your cupboard? Just tell us, we prefer honesty!
  • We have very many CVs to read, so please try to keep it concise wherever possible.

You’ll also need to send us a short covering letter which gives us a sense of who you are, what you love doing, what your recent successes have been, and most of all, why you want to work at Nominet.

Finally, you’ll need to send this letter together with your CV to [email protected] – or follow any specific online instructions that an agency might have given you.

If you’ve sailed through the questions above it is likely we will be in touch very shortly – and we can’t wait to meet you!

What happens next?

Once you’ve applied for a live vacancy on our careers site, here’s what you can expect to happen next:

  1. You’ll receive an automated email response via email that confirms we’ve received your application.
  2. If we think you’re a good match for the role, we’ll contact you to arrange an initial telephone interview.
  3. If your telephone interview goes well, we’ll then invite you to our offices for a more formal interview.
  4. In most cases, if the recruiting manager decides you’re still a good match (and assuming you think we’re right for you too!), there’ll be a 2nd stage interview which will give you the chance to meet one or more of our senior leadership team.
  5. Finally, if everyone agrees that you’re the right person for the role, we’ll talk you through the offer process and, hopefully, agree on a suitable package and start date.
  6. For some roles, we might also ask you to complete a test or even do a presentation – but we’ll give you more details on what we’ll expect from you at the time.
