Who are we?
We want to create a world which is more connected, inclusive and secure. For 25 years we have been operating at the heart of the internet infrastructure as proud guardians of the .UK domain name registry. Our understanding of the Domain Name System (DNS) underpins a sophisticated cyber security capability used by governments to secure their networks. We aim to generate a surplus to invest back into our service and fund our public benefit activities.
Our Work
We are a world-leading domain name registry. We run .UK - part of the UK's critical national infrastructure - and other top level domains, including .bbc, .wales and .bentley.
Our experience in running and protecting one of the largest internet registries has enabled us to use our expertise in DNS to develop Protective DNS solutions. Our delivery of the National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) Protective DNS (PDNS) secures 6m users across the UK public sector.
Technology has the power to transform lives by creating opportunities and providing support where it’s needed most. Our social impact programmes provide support and opportunities to tackle some of the most important digital issues facing young people in the UK today.

Helping our Environment
We are committed to minimising the impact of our activities on the environment and to reducing our carbon emissions through our carbon reduction plan to achieve our net zero 2050 goal.
We offset our measured carbon through an international deforestation and land-use change project in Indonesia, and invest in UK woodland projects to help the UK achieve net zero by 2050.
Our carbon reduction plan demonstrates our commitment to decarbonisation and shows how we plan to reduce our footprint year on year.
