Nominet Named as Supplier on Crown Commercial Service’s Network Services 3 Framework for Critical Domain Services

1st June 2023

Nominet – the public benefit internet company and guardians of the .UK domain since 1996 – has been named as a supplier on Crown Commercial Service’s Network Services 3 framework under Lot 1D for Critical Domain Services.

By adding domain services into the new Network Services 3 framework, the UK government has recognised the importance of the highest standards for delivery in the domains space – focused on security, uptime, and customer service for all of its online operations.

Paul Fletcher, CEO of Nominet, said:

“We’re known globally as the guardians of .UK, and today we’re using our DNS expertise to further protect public services both in the UK and overseas. We’re delighted to be part of this new and important government framework.  We know the importance of operating critical infrastructure, and look forward to working with UK government departments and public services.”

Crown Commercial Service (CCS) supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2021/22, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits equal to £2.8 billion – supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.

Network Services 3 is the latest iteration of the CCS’s Network Services framework.  The agreement will provide telecommunication services including Critical Domain Services to Central Government Departments and all other UK Public Sector Bodies. This includes Local Authorities, Health, Police, Fire and Rescue, Education, and Devolved Administrations.
