Searchable WHOIS
When it comes to protecting your rights over a domain name, it helps to have as much information as possible
That’s where our Searchable WHOIS comes in. This useful tool allows you to search the .UK, .cymru and .wales registers for exact and similar domain names. This could be used for:
- Establishing or defending intellectual property rights over a domain name
- Gathering information for any domain name disputes, or investigating and prosecuting possible offences, such as false identities and fraudulent websites
- Carrying out academic research and government functions
The Searchable WHOIS (formally known as PRSS, the Public Register Search Service) is updated daily and allows searches using wildcards. You can view up to 21,000 results per week, with the results viewed in batches to make things more manageable. The search tool also allows you to store regular searches as favorites, and keeps a history of your last 1,000 searches for quick and easy access.
If you’ve subscribed to the Searchable WHOIS, you can access it by logging into your Online Services account.
